Frankfort Township Road District holds a General National Pollutant Discharge Eliminatin System Permit from the Illinois EPA for stormwater discharges from its municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4). To protect water quality, the MS4 Permit requires that the Frankfort Township Road District develop and implement a stormwater management program designed to reduce the discharge of pollutants from its stormwater system to the maximum extent practicable.
